About This Treatment

What is Juvéderm Vollure XC and how does it work?

Vollure XC uses Allergan's VYCROSS™ technology to create a uniquely flexible gel that softens nasolabial folds and marionette lines while maintaining natural facial movement.

Unlike stiffer fillers that can look rigid at rest or with movement, Vollure's flexible formula moves with your expressions, so results look natural whether your face is still or animated. It lasts up to 18 months, making it one of the longest-lasting HA fillers for this area.

Facial folds deepen with age as the underlying fat pads descend and skin loses elasticity. Vollure physically fills these creases, restoring the smooth, youthful transition between the cheek and the mouth area.

What to Expect

What happens during a Vollure appointment?

1
Skin assessment (5 min)
Your provider assesses the depth and extent of your folds, marks injection points, and recommends a syringe count. You'll agree on the full plan before treatment begins.
2
Topical numbing (10 min)
Topical numbing cream is applied. Vollure also contains lidocaine for additional comfort during injection. Most patients find the treatment very tolerable.
3
Microdroplet injections (10–15 min)
Vollure is placed using a cannula or fine needle along the fold. A cannula technique minimizes entry points and significantly reduces bruising. You'll see immediate smoothing as the product fills the fold.
4
Results & 4-week follow-up
Your skin will feel softer and more hydrated within weeks. Visible improvements in smoothness and glow are typically seen at 1 month. Your complimentary follow-up at 4 weeks assesses your results and addresses any areas needing a touchup.

Common Questions

Juvéderm Vollure, Frequently Asked Questions

Up to 18 months in clinical studies, making it the longest-lasting Juvederm product for facial folds. Most patients return once a year for maintenance. Longevity depends on the depth of treatment, individual metabolism, and lifestyle factors.
Most patients need 1–2 syringes to treat both nasolabial folds. Deeper folds or adding marionette lines may require more. Your provider will assess at consultation.
Yes. Vollure's flexible Vycross formula is designed to move with your facial expressions, not against them. The filler is soft enough to flex with natural facial movement, so results look smooth whether you are at rest or animated.
Nasolabial folds are partly caused by cheek volume loss. As the cheeks descend, they push skin into folds. Vollure addresses the fold directly by filling it. Voluma lifts the cheek to address the root cause. Many patients treat both areas in the same appointment for the most complete and long-lasting result.
Minimal. Some swelling and possible bruising at injection sites, typically resolving within 3–5 days. Most patients return to normal activities immediately.
Yes, as an HA filler, Vollure can be fully dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed. This is rarely required but provides peace of mind.
